Subject: MERRY CHRISTMAS

I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year 2009. My Christmas is the joy and gratitude to God for me and my family and family for just being alive and healthy in all aspects of life and to be able to intercede for those that are needy and forgotten by the rest of us.

I used to lament that my children do not have a new set of cloths for Christmas,
Until I met children with no cloths but in tatters on Christmas day,

I used to lament that my children do not have expensive food to celebrate Christmas,
Until I saw children eating from the trash bins on Christmas day.

I used to lament that my children do not have presents for Christmas,
Until I met children begging on the streets on Christmas day.

I used to lament that my children do not have a big house to live in,
Until I met children sleeping out in the bitter cold on Christmas Eve.

I used to lament that God did not care for my children's health when they fell sick on Christmas Eve,
Until I met sick children on the streets with no one to care for them.

I used to lament that I would transfer my children to a better school come new year,
Until I met children on the streets with no one to take them even to a public school.

I used to lament that God does not heed or even answer my prayers,
Until I met children on the streets, down on their knees praying on Christmas Eve.

Oh God, how we lament everyday about this, about that, about when, about what, about why, yet we totally forget the little blessings that we have everyday. It's those little blessings that create our miracles and make us human and most important of all, Children of the Living God.

Thank you God for all the little blessings that you bestow on us each and every day.

Amen.

May the peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ to whom we celebrate Christmas, be with us all and more so with all those that are suffering and in need at all times.

Amen.

What is a Social Network?

Have you heard of MySpace, Facebook, and Ning? These are the hugely popular social networking sites. If you would like more information on Social Networks, I would check here to read more on them via Wikipedia.

I would like to introduce to the new Social Network we are releasing on NING for the the Kenya 09 trip. Please click here to take a look! Or there will be another link after this blog post if you want to check it out after you read this.

We would love all of you to come and join us on the network at Kenya09. It is a fantastic place to have discussions, see the upcoming events, look at pictures, watch videos, chat, see the profiles of people traveling on the trip, read blogs, and much more. In addition, a largely attended and highly participated in social network is a HUGE asset for a budding nonprofit. Investors, sponsors, travel agents, travelers, all love to see how the community functions and the benefits that partnering with this group will have.

Will you take a few minutes and join our social network? Click on the link below, fill out a few questions, upload a picture of yourself if you have one, and start developing a community that is MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

Cell Phone Stickers!

Have you heard of a cell phone sticker? Probably not...and now that you have you are probably wondering...

"WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD I WANT TO PUT A STICKER ON MY CELL PHONE?"
Well, let me count the ways...

  1. They only cost $1 each!

  2. They are static type stickers that will not leave nasty crud on your phone when you take it off

  3. You can take off the sticker and reapply many different times

  4. All proceeds go towards the International Villages-Hopewell project

  5. It has the cool International Villages-Hopewell logo on it

  6. You can pass them on to your friends...why buy 1? Buy a few and give them to the crew!

  7. The artwork is original pencil art by Edgerton student Matt Greving

  8. A new design will come out every Monday, the two designs here are the first 2 designs, the school district you are in will determine which one is available to you at which time

  9. How else can you own an elephant or a rhino?

  10. Collect them all

Trip Update!

If you havn't seen the new site yet...CHECK IT OUT!

The first trip is full! 24 people have committed to going with us...I will release the first trip roster as soon as the second trip fills! :)

The second trip currently has 19 out of 24 spots filled...however there are many people still considering and we are planning this to fill up in the next week.

Check out these cards designed by Stephanie Marino and Lorri Nastala and will be made by the students and teachers who will be going on the trip! These are available for purchase to help raise funds for the building of the International Villages-Hopewell. A set of 6 handmade cards with handmade envelopes made from recycled grocery bags is available for the feel good price of only $15! Order some for yourself and for your friends and family as gifts!
