I hope you are all doing fine. It is still dusty around here and the rains don't seem to be pouring very soon. School is good and there are three more weeks before we fold up for the August break……some 'summer' break for us.

We received the news of the approval of land purchase with lots of excitement. We are gearing to spring into action. Land purchase is the most critical and urgent activity of this project and once secured, the rest of the project activities can follow at a slower pace…so to say.

James, Alice and I plan to have the global village registered in its own name as a business. Before turning it into a limited liability company (which would take quite some time in Kenya), we will register the name with Kenya's registrar of companies. With a name certificate, the global village can then operate its own bank account and any funds which will still be in Hopewell's account and belong to the village can then be transferred. To register a business name, we would need the particulars of those designated by WTW board to be in the board of the global village…..possible for you to send us scanned passports of the 3 WTW appointees(portion indicating names, date of birth, etc),passport-size photos of the 3,scanned signatures of the 3 and two emails, one addressed to the Registrar of Companies applying to register a company in Kenya to run a guest house/tourist resort and the other addressed to the Manager, Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Nakuru Branch, asking to open an account in the name of the village and for the time being, allowing your Kenyan partner to handle the transactions.

In the meantime, as the above issues are worked out, Hopewell will set up a sub account in the name of the village to receive the lands' funds. We operate school accounts in the same bank. This will be done this coming Monday and we will send you the bank details. As usual, all documentation will be properly maintained and various financial records aptly maintained.

Have you settled on the final name for this global village? We thought that if probably there was one major donor, the village would be named in his/her honor. Or create another name which is agreeable to all stakeholders. We at Hopewell are comfortable with any choice of name you come up with.

Have a blessed Sunday. We wish you all the best in this difficult task of fund raising.

Vitalice
